History of an RAF badge please?

Can anyone give me the history of a small metal badge I own, with the inscription.’RAF COMFORTS COMMITTEE. VOLUNTARY WORKER.

Does the badge have a crown on and what does the crown look like? Does it look “Squashed?” in which case it’s probably the “kings crown” and pre 1953.
I think it’s a Voluntary group (of airmens wives etc that form committees to welcome the wives and families to new overseas postings.), as opposed to anything “formal”
